The American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA) has sent a letter to the United States (US) Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), urging enforcement of its children's sleepwear flammability standard and a full investigation of reports of non-compliant sleepwear throughout the industry.
In its letter, AAFA asked CPSC for "Yes" or "No" answers to questions regarding interpretations of the sleepwear flammability standard. These included questions about cotton lounge pants without flame resistant treatment, garments marked "Not intended for sleepwear," flame resistant robes, and fiber identity disclosures for sleepwear styles sold online.
In closing, AAFA asserted its commitment as a partner to CPSC.
