On January 4 2013 The Australian Department of Health and Ageing published notice of the consultation on their website.
The chemicals involved have undergone assessment using the Inventory Multi-tiered Assessment and Prioritisation (IMAP) framework. The IMAP framework is a science and risk-based model designed to align the assessment effort with the human health and environmental impacts of chemicals.
NICNAS is giving interested parties opportunity to comment on the assessment outcomes of the IMAP assessment within two months of their initial publication.
The public comment period ends at close of business on 31 January 2013.
Comments are sought where information that has potential to affect the outcome of an assessment has not been considered in the assessment.
Comments provided should be evidence-based and the relevance of submitted information should be highlighted.
