In May, 1999, based on the identification by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Chlorsulfuron was added to the list, as causing reproductive toxicity, but in November, 2013, the EPA established that there was no compelling evidence of reproductive toxicity for chlorsulfuron. DuPont Crop Protection petitioned the OEHHA to review the basis for listing the chemical. OEHHA referred chlorsulfuron to the Developmental and Reproductive Toxicant Identification Committee (DARTIC) for reconsideration, who then determined that the chemical has not been clearly shown, through scientifically valid testing according to generally accepted principles, to cause reproductive toxicity. As a result, the chemical is being removed from the list.
