California Proposes Amendments to Appliance Efficiency Regulations

The California Energy Commission (CEC) is proposing to amend its Appliance Efficiency Regulations in relation to the energy efficiency of appliances, and make federal appliance regulatory updates, minor corrections, and clarifications.

The CEC has released proposed amendments for:

• energy efficiency standards for dimming ballasts;
• water efficiency standards for toilets, urinals, and faucets;
• labeling standards for replacement air filters in heat-pump water-chilling packages and heating and ventilation systems, and incorporation of Federal updates.

The CEC will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 17, 2015 and comments are invited up until March 30, 2015.
