The proposed changes will include an increase in minimum energy performance standards for 20 products which are already regulated under the Energy Efficiency Act. In addition, a number of Standards for electrical and electronic products will align with requirements in force or soon to be in force in the US. Other changes include updates to the scope, reporting and compliance requirements for a number of products including external power supplies, general services lamps, large commercial air conditioners and heat pumps and televisions, to reflect updated requirements both in the United States and Canada.
