Chileans each produce 9.9 kilos of e-Waste annually, according to a recent United Nations report, which amounts to twice the global average. This initiative aims, among other things, to formalize the recycling industry in Chile and oblige companies to take charge of their end-of-life products, and thereby reduce the production of e-Waste. The program includes the recovery of telephone equipment, and all electronic devices associated with the operation and transmission of telecommunications, such as antennas, network boxes, and modems.
