The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released a draft final rule on safety standards for carriages and strollers. <https://www-5.compliance2product.com/c2p/newsAnalysisMainView.do?id=40673&navTrailRequired=false> The rule incorporates the most recent voluntary standard developed by ASTM International (formerly the American Society for Testing and Materials), ASTM F833-13b, covering “Standard Consumer Safety Performance Specification for Carriages and Strollers”, with an addition to deal with head entrapment hazards associated with multiple-positional/adjustable grab bars.

As is required, the Commission consulted with manufacturers, retailers, trade organizations, laboratories, consumer advocacy groups, consultants, and members of the public in the development of this proposed standard, primarily through the ASTM process.
