It does not apply to washing machines powered by other fuels, or for industrial and commercial use. It enters into force on 9 December 2013. Compliant products being imported into Ecuador must have a certificate of conformity, issued by a designated or accredited certification body using test results from an accredited laboratory, or issued by an accredited body in the country of origin, recognized by the national Ecuadorian accreditation body.
