The so-called "**Troika**" agreement kick started the integration processes in Eurasia. Early stages of cooperation were followed by the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Community in 2000, also known as the “**EurAsEC**”, which originally consisting of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan. The main purpose of the EurAsEC was to promote and support the formation of the **Customs Union** and the **Common Economic Space**. On October 6th, 2007, the City of Dusanbe witnessed Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation signing a Treaty establishing a single customs territory and formation of the Customs Union with simple goals in mind: - Ensuring the free movement of goods in mutual trade - Preferential terms of trade for the Customs Union with other countries - Development of economic integration Common Customs Tariffs were subsequently brought in in 2010 and lead to the abolition of customs clearance and customs control at the internal borders of the three states. Adoption of 17 international treaties, together with the Declaration on the formation of the Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation, saw the official launch of the operation of the Common Economic Space in December 2010. The year 2012 brought a new stage of Eurasian integration with international treaties forming the legal framework for the Common Economic Space of the three countries. This also set the foundation for the implementation of the "four freedoms", free movement of goods, services, capital and labor. On top of that, the **Eurasian Economic Commission** 'opened for business' in the same year.
