Cadmium chloride, a phthalate and two boron substances were all added. The new substances now included are: - Cadmium chloride - 1,2 Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dihexyl ester, branched and linear - Sodium peroxometaborate - Sodium perborate; perboric acid, sodium salt The Candidate List is a list of all SVHC substances which are candidates for inclusion in Annex XIV of REACH, which lists all substances subject to authorization under EU REACH. Companies need to consider potential legal obligations they may have because of these substances being added to the Candidate List, through either the listed substances on their own, in mixtures or in articles. Producers and importers of articles, containing any of the four substances included in the Candidate List by 16 June 2014, have six months from today to notify ECHA if the following conditions apply: - the substance is present in those articles in quantities over one tonne per producer or importer per year, and - the substance is present in those articles above a concentration of 0.1% weight by weight. There are exemptions from the notification obligation if the substance is already registered for the use or when exposure can be excluded.
