The purpose of the framework is to provide clarity and guidance to internal and external stakeh olders on the principles and processes associated with risk assessment and to support a risk based approach to determine where the Program should focus its attention. The framework will provide a foundation for consistent assessment of risks in a manner that is systematic, structured and based on the best available evidence and establish a basis for decision-making on human health or safety risks posed by products. Health Canada has issued a working draft of the framework. The agency will accept feedback and comments through 30 January 2014.
