Products included baby and childcare products, such as bassinet pads, car seats, cradle pads, and diaper changing kits. According to PIRG, seven of 10 products tested contained the chemical and two of those products were not labeled to warn of its presence. Chlorinated Tris has been linked to health concerns including hormone disruption, infertility, and developmental problems. The chemical was voluntarily removed from children's pajamas in the 1970s; however, it is commonly used as a flame retardant in foam-containing products.
