The proposed revision adopts the European Standard EN 71-1:2011. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows: - Deletes the reference to Israel Mandatory Standard SI 60065 regarding electrical toys; - Removes from the standard's scope decorations for festivals and celebrations that are not considered as toys and that are in use by children over 6 years old; - Deletes the reference to Israel Standard SI 5032; - Adds new warning requirements that include the specific hazard cause and potential resulting damage; - Adds new requirements for: toys without a braking mechanism designed to be ridden upon, electrical toys designed to be ridden upon, toys with an electrical cord longer than 300 mm and toy with strings or chains designed for children over 18 months but under 36 months. The final date for comment ends in 60 days.
