Jordan to Enforce Energy Labeling Technical Regulations

Jordan's Standards and Metrology Organisation (JSMO) has issued a notice via the Amman Chamber of Commerce, reminding manufacturers and importers to ensure that products bear an energy efficiency label before entry into the local market as of July 1, 2014. JSMO intends to undertake market surveillance including inspection of warehouses, and to take action in the event of non-compliance.

This notice follows the enactment of a number of energy labeling and ecodesign technical regulations on various electrical and electronic products in the last few months, which were made mandatory.
