Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) has announced that it is revising the fees charged to the makers and importers (or Stewards) of new electronic products. The fees will either be staying the same or reducing, and are based on actual costs, set using the cost recovery funding model as required by the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. The new charges come into effect from May 1, 2014.

Ontarians are increasingly recycling their waste electronics safely and responsibly.  The OES is a not-for-profit industry organization that oversees the responsible reuse and recycling of waste electronics through a program that includes 600 collection sites and numerous other affiliate sites across the province.
