The Products concerned are Mercury and mercury-containing products, where mercury is included with more than 100 ppm (mg / kg) in the product homogeneous components. Denmark drafted the Ordinance as it wants the use of mercury and mercury-containing products phased out because of its harmful effect on the environment. The draft issued pursuant to the Chemical Substances and Products Act, 878/2010 is a follow up to an earlier 2008 notification which was subsequently closed.  This Regulation has been narrowed compared to the previous draft as a result of later EU rules.
