The Oregon Health Authority, under this new law, is required to compile and maintain a list of designated high priority chemicals of concern used in children's products.  Manufacturers have to report children's products that contain listed chemicals on January 1 of the year after those chemicals are listed.  The law specifies that the list includes those on Washington State's Reporting List of Chemicals of High Concern to Children.  Children's products are defined under the law as children’s clothing and footwear, toys, children’s cosmetics, car seats, children’s jewelry, and any product designed or intended to facilitate sucking, teething, relaxation, sleep, feeding or drinking, that are manufactured for, marketed for use by or marketed to children below 12 years of age.  A number of products are specifically excluded, including consumer electronics and software, batteries, certain video toys and sporting equipment, among other items.
