A second major deadline for REACH of the May 31st, 2013 saw 2,923 more substances registered. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) also said that 696 substances that had already been included in the previous deadline were registered by new companies.
ECHA reported that by the deadline 3,215 companies had submitted 9,084 registration files for chemicals manufactured or imported in quantities from 100 to 1 000 tonnes per year. Micro, small or medium sized companies accounted for 20% of all registrations with 80% from large companies.
