Singapore has published a summary of feedback it received following the consultation in February 2015 on the extension of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) and mandatory energy labeling for general purpose lamps. No draft of the legislation has been made available to date.

Industry expressed concern at the short timeframe for implementation of the new measures. The consultation document suggested that the measures will come into force on July 1, 2015 and manufacturers and importers will have a 1 year transitional period to clear stocks which do not comply with the MEPS and energy labeling requirements. In response to industry's concern, Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) states that the 1 year transitional period is sufficient.
