Known as Priority Evaluation Chemicals (PECs), these substances were selected with regard to their carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic, and toxic to the aquatic environment characteristics, and consideration was given to chemicals identified by the EU and US, as well as the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). According to the Ministry notice, the Chemical Evaluation Committee is likely to consider the list in March 2015, with final publication of the list expected to be published in the Official Gazette in June 2015.
