The European toy industry is already adhering to this limit by applying the voluntary European Standard EN 71-9:2005+A1:2007 controlling the content of BPA in toys. BPA, and its effect on numerous health issues, is under evaluation with a number of scientific groups and if relevant new information becomes available, then the European Commission will review the limit that it has now adopted.
