It also sets out conditions for use of the label. In addition the Act empowers the Government or the authority appointed by the Government to issue regulations on the criteria that must be met for a product to be labeled with the EU Ecolabel. The new law will come into force on 1 January 2014, when the current Act (1994:1772) on the application of the European Eco-label scheme will be repealed.
