The UK government have stated that they want to make it easier for users of government guidance to understand environmental regulations, and as such, they would welcome any comments on what information they might have omitted, but which ought to have been included in the guidance, comments on good practice advice, and ideas on how to develop this work through collaborative efforts.
DEFRA plan to have published content plans for most of the environmental topics by the end of June 2014, and the content plans will be available for public comment for a period of 6 weeks.
Topics published for public comment in May:
• Environmental Permitting
• Access and Engagement
• Chemicals and Emerging Technologies
• Landscape
Topics which are due to be published for public comment in June include:
• Land Management
• Biodiversity
• Development
• Emergencies, pollution incidents and environmental hazards
• Enforcement and sanctions
• Flood management and coastal change
Content plans for guidance on non-environmental topics (eg farming) and the remaining topics are due to be published later in the year.
The Consultation closes on March 31, 2015.
