The United States (US) House of Representatives is considering a bill to establish the "Made in America Act of 2013."

The bill would establish a voluntary "America Star Program," under which manufacturers can certify products which meet specified standards to indicate to consumers the extent to which the products are manufactured in the US.

The goals of the bill are to:

- Provide clarity for consumers as to which products are manufactured in the US;
- Encourage manufacturers to manufacture more products in the US; and
- Highlight the importance of domestic manufacturing for the economy of the US.
