US DOE Amends Energy Standards for Walk-in Coolers and Freezers

The US Department of Energy (DOE) is adopting amended energy conservation standards for the main components of walk-in coolers and walk-in freezers (walk- ins), refrigeration systems, panels, and doors.

The amended standards are in relation to annual walk-in energy factor (AWEF) for the walk-in refrigeration systems, R-value for walk-in panels, and maximum energy consumption (MEC) for walk-in doors.

The rule will be in effect 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.
