The updated TSCA Work Plan contains 90 chemicals and removes or consolidates 16 of those chemicals, most of which are no longer in commerce in the US. Another 23 chemicals were added by EPA, which were previously considered of ‘moderate concern’, and are due for consideration after 2017. The TSCA Work Plan for Chemical Assessments forms the basis of EPA’s efforts to ensure chemicals that have the highest potential for exposure and hazard are assessed and, if justified, are subject to risk reduction actions.
