The regulations state that the import, manufacture or marketing of fluorescent lamps is prohibited if they do not meet certain energy efficiency requirements. The maximum level of mercury content for compact, linear, circular and fluorescent lamps is also outlined.
In addition to the energy efficiency label, fluorescent lamps must also include certain information on the product packaging including the manufacturer mark/brand, country of origin, voltage, frequency, mercury content and final disposal information.
