Turkey Further Extends Layoff Restrictions Due to COVID-19

On 27 October 2020, points 1 and 2 of the Provisional Article 10 of the Turkish Labor Law No. 4857 were amended. The main aim of the Presidential Decision No. 3135 is to provide temporary employment security due to COVID-19.

Ontario Proposes to Introduce Liability Protection Against COVID-19 Lawsuits

On 20 October 2020, Ontario introduced Bill 218, Supporting Ontario's Recovery and Municipal Elections Act, 2020, to offer businesses protection against lawsuits relating to COVID-19 infection or exposure. If enacted, liability protection against COVID-19 related lawsuits would apply to businesses and workers who "acted or made a good faith effort" to follow public health guidelines and laws.

Netherlands Publishes Ergonomic Requirements for Office Workstations

Due to COVID-19, many people have been working from home since mid-March and offices are often (partly) closed. In order to get people back to work in the office, rooms need to be arranged differently. The Dutch Standardization Institute NEN has published a NEN spec with ergonomic requirements for the surface and layout of office workplaces in the context of COVID-19 measures.

Turkey Extends Deadline for the Registration of Data Controllers

Board Decision No. 2020/482 of the Personal Data Protection Authority further extends the deadline by which data controllers must register with the Authority in Turkey due to COVID-19.
