Businesses will be affected by the new EU Conflict Minerals Regulation when it applies from 2021. This includes SMEs that import tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold into the EU. These SMEs may also be direct members of your industry association or found within the supply chains of your larger members.  In the future, SMEs will need to conduct due diligence in their sourcing not only to comply with the Regulation, but also to meet customer requirements, be more transparent and compete globally. **The European Commission is developing a system to support SMEs with supply chain due diligence regarding conflict minerals.**  So that the system is built for them, Edif ERA and Estelle Levin have prepared a survey that seeks information from SMEs on what help they may need and how this might be best delivered.  **SMEs’ participation in this survey is very important.**  To help reach relevant SMEs, please share this link with your contacts and within your supply chains.  The survey is available in five languages and should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. It runs until **30 June 2017**.
