The marking requirements (which have been specified in CNS 15663 Section 5 in the inspection rules for listed products) are contained in the Announcement. The "presence of restricted substance(s)" must be marked on the body, packages, stickers, or in the instruction books of all products covered. Restricted substances consist of the following: - lead - cadmium - mercury - hexavalent chromium - PDDEs - PBBs The new standards come into force from the publication day of the Announcement, with the old standards ceasing to apply after January 1, 2018. Those who currently hold certificates will have to renew these and provide test reports which comply with revised standards, documents relating to marking and the "Declaration of the Presence Conditions of the Restricted Substances Marking", before December 31, 2017. Failure to renew the current certificates will result in revocation of type approval registration.
