On the 17 December 2012 the Australian Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency published the exposure draft for Comment.
"The draft regulation provides for certain detailed arrangements for coverage of non-transport LPG and LNG under the carbon pricing mechanism from 1 July 2013. The draft regulation also provides for new arrangements for end-user liability for natural gas through the carbon pricing mechanism."
In exposing this draft regulation the Department is seeking views on:
- its consistency with the relevant regulation –making powers set out in the Clean Energy Act 2011; and
- its practical operation and application.
Interested parties are invited to make submissions on the exposure draft by 7 February 2013. An explanatory note accompanies the draft regulation.
