Belgium has adopted a regulation on the placing on the market of substances manufactured in nanoparticle state. This decree by the Cabinet of Ministers provides for the setting up of a national register of nanomaterials in order to ensure their traceability.
The registration of substances will be operational from January 1, 2016, while mandatory registration of mixtures will start from January 1, 2017.
Belgium are following the path of France in becoming the second country in the European Union to implement a mandatory register for nanomaterials.
