China Approves Seven New Standards on the Disposal of WEEE

The Chinese General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and Standardization Administration (SAC) approved seven standards on the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

The series of standards set out requirements on the disposal of WEEE for specific products including LCD televisions and monitors, plasma televisions and monitors, CRT televisions and monitors, printers, copiers, laptops, and desktop computers.

The final approved texts of the standards are not yet available for purchase online. However according to SAC, the standards are due to enter into force on October 1, 2015.
