The Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection has proposed a standard 
on technical requirements for environmental labeling for gas cooking appliances.
The Draft applies to both domestic and commercial gas cooking appliances and sets out terminology and definitions, basic requirements, technical requirements and testing methods for gas cooking appliances.
As per Article 5, plastic components used in gas cookers weighing over 25g, or with a surface area larger than 200 mm, will have to comply with requirements set out in standard GB 16288. The limits for lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBBs and PBDEs will have to comply with standard GB/T 26572. Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury and hexavalent chromium will not be permitted to exceed 100 mg/kg.
The draft, if enacted, will replace the standard HJ/T 311-2016.
