On 30 January 2013, China MIIT, NDRC, and MEP jointly issued a Guidance Opinion on Development of Industrial Product Ecodesign to implement the National 12th Five Year Plan on Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction. The Guidance Opinion recognized the importance of ecodesign of industrial products and sets out guiding concepts, basic principles and main targets in order to promote the development of ecodesign to facilitate green/low carbon cleaner production.
