The United States (US) Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has proposed revisions to 16 CFR 423 on care labeling of apparel.
These revisions would allow the use of either ASTM or ISO care symbols; include new instructions for professional wetcleaning; clarify a "reasonable basis" for care instructions; and update the current definition of drycleaning.
The agency seeks comments by 16 November 2012.
