Iceland has implemented Chemicals Act, No. 61/2013 which aims to ensure that the treatment of substances and preparations do not cause damage to human and animal health or the environment.
It governs the production, marketing, export, transit, chemical registration, licensing, labelling, use and restriction of substances and preparations. It repeals the Toxic and Dangerous Substances Act, No. 52/1988 and the Chemical Substances and Preparations Act, No. 45/2008.
