Macedonia has recently consulted on a draft list of exemptions to the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The list replicates the annex on exemptions in the current EU RoHS Directive 2002/65/EC as last amended by Decision 2011/534/EU.
The regulation also specifies the maximum concentration values for the restricted substances; again aligned with the EU, these are 0.1% for lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE, and 0.01% for cadmium.
The Macedonian RoHS provisions are due to take effect on 1 January 2013; it is therefore expected that this document will be finalised shortly.
