Mary Liddane, Global Compliance Project Manager, Compliance & Risks, will present on the findings of the Countering WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) Illegal Trade (CWIT) Project at Edif ERA’s annual conference, ‘Electrical and Electronic Equipment and the Environment 2015’. This event will take place this November, 11-12 at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport.
Mary, in association with Federico Magalini of the United Nations University, will present the findings and recommendations from the Countering Trade in Illegal WEEE (CWIT) Project including:
- Analysis of the EU WEEE flows, the legal framework and indicators of criminal activity
- Recommendations including those to help increase collection rates and prevent illegal loss of WEEE, identify trading, treatment and economic drivers, improve the legal framework and its implementation and enhance enforcement and prosecution of offenses
- Implications for EU WEEE collection targets
