Italy has notified the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) of its intention to submit a restriction dossier for N,N-dimethylformamide. The intention will aim to restrict the placing on the market of articles containing DMF in concentration exceeding a level to be specified.
Dimethylformamide is primarily used as an industrial solvent and in the production of fibers, films, and surface coatings.
The proposed dossier is expected to be submitted by January 16, 2015.
