Taiwan's Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of its proposal to update the commodity commodity inspection for toys products to the new version of the toy safety standard CNS 4797:2012.
The Notice provides a list of 66 toy products subject to testing under the new version of the standard published on 4 December 2012. The products listed are also subject to registration of product certification and conformity declaration.
The term of validity of the certification is three years. Certifications obtained before the enforcement of this Notice shall expire on 28 February 2014. Certification holders must renew their certification before this expiry date, otherwise, their certification will be revoked. Also, their renewed certification will expire on 28 February 2017.
