The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced an interim determination that UL Verification Services (UL) is classified as a nationally recognized certification program for small electric motors.
DOE will accept comments on this interim determination until October 17, 2013. Any person submitting written comments must also, at the same time, send a copy of such comments to UL. In response, UL may submit written comments to the DOE. After receiving any such comments and responses, DOE will issue a final determination on the UL Petition, in accordance with § 431.448(e) of 10 CFR part 431.
