On 22 May 2013, the Korean Government published the long-awaited law on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH). An unofficial English translation of the Act is provided courtesy of Bergeson & Campbell PC and can be found in our compliance knowledge management platform, C2P and on their website. The translation is of the draft enacted on 30 April, but final text published last month is unchanged.
K-REACH sets out the process for chemical registration, evaluation, assessment of hazards and risks of chemical substances and products containing hazardous chemical substances, and to protect public health and the environment in Korea. It will enter into force on January 1st, 2015.
