The US Department of Defense (DoD) is issuing a final rule requiring its contractors and their subcontractors to establish and maintain an acceptable counterfeit electronic part detection and avoidance system and comes into effect from today, May 6, 2014.
The rule amends the Defense Acquisition Regulations System in partial implementation of a section of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, and a section of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013, relating to the detection and avoidance of counterfeit electronic parts.
