A widely used solvent and medium, 1-bromopropane, is being proposed by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the list of toxic chemicals subject to reporting under the EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act) and the PPA (Pollution Prevention Act).
EPA believes that the chemical, 1-bromopropane, meets the EPCRA section313(d)(2)(B) criteria because it can be reasonably anticipated to cause cancer and based on analysis of the available production and use information, it is expected to be manufactured, processed, or otherwise used in volumes greater than EPCRA section 313 reporting thresholds.
