Washington State’s Department of Ecology is proposing to amend its Electronic Products Recycling Program regulations.
Under the new proposals, Ecology would be required to work out manufacturers’ responsibility in the E-Cycle program based on their market share by weight of the covered products sold in or into the state of Washington.
In addition, the proposed rule increases the reporting requirements for organizations operating recycling programs for electronic products, and clarifies that retailers must provide take-home information on electronics recycling for covered electronic products.
