On 29 June 2018, the South Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE) has published the new consolidated Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act Enforcement Rules which contains following key changes;

Article 2 and 3: Establish 'household goods subject to safety standards', and list the products in Annex 6

Article 15, 34, 46: When the products are imported with parallel importation, report of safety certification, safety confirmation, and supplier conformity notification shall be exempted.

Article 50, 51 and 52: Establish safety management rules for household goods subject to safety standards.

Article 56, 57 and 58: Establish special provisions related to execute purchasing, parallel import.
This enforcement rules will enter into force on 1 July 2018.
