In order to reduce exposure to hazardous substances contained in electronics to the general public the Swedish Ministry of Finance has enacted a law to tax certain chemicals in electronics.
The taxed products include:
- Washing machines
- Refrigerators
- Computers
- Mobile phones
- Televisions, etc.
This new law will enter into force on April 1, 2017, and will be gradually widened in order to include a broader range of customer products and hazardous substances.
